Conference The Department of Education and Training is hosting the inaugural Directions conference, a new and

Student to Industry Program Student to Industry Program is a Local Community
Partnership [LCP] in the Australian Capital Territory, supporting the smooth transition of youth into the workplace. As a LCP,

LLENs and Other Networks [Local Learning &
Employment Networks] LLENs bring together education providers, industry, community organisations, individual and
government organisations to improve education, training and employment outcomes for young people in communities across Victoria.
There is a statewide network of thirty one LLENs which were established in 2001-2002. They focus on young people aged
15-19, with a particular emphasis on those at risk of not completing year 12 or its equivalent.
Managed Individual Pathways [MIPs] In Victoria, the Managed Individual Pathways initiative ensures that all students 15 years and over in government
schools are provided with individual pathway plans with associated support as a means to continued education, training or
full-time employment. Additional support is provided to students at risk of disengaging or not making a successful
transition to further education, training or secure employment.
Pathways to Getting a Career There are many pathways from school that can lead to a rewarding career. There are so many options that it can
sometimes be overwhelming, but remember that people can move between pathways and are not restricted to one occupation or
education level. Many people now return to study to upgrade their qualifications during their adult lives. Multiple
