To assist the location of schools in the capital city or major country towns, access is provided to WHEREIS. This provides a map of the nominated suburb or town OR if you have the exact address, this can be entered and a location will be mapped for you. For location of schools in other country regions, an Australian atlas or regional maps are recommended.

Schools are listed in alphabetical order whether they are :

  • Infants [K-3];
  • Public [K-6];
  • Secondary [7-12];
  • Senior Colleges [11-12].

Central schools refer to schools that include both primary and secondary on the one site [some to Year 10, some to Year 12].

SSP schools are special schools catering for children with specific disabilities.

Hospital schools are to assist children who are ill for lengthy periods and are attached to hospitals.

Environmental Education Centres are bushland settings where environment, science, etc., are taught. Students usually attend from schools on a day basis [some overnight stays are possible].
