Computer technologies are becoming increasingly more essential in education, mutually as an instrument of educational delivery and as a learning activity for students. Given this expanding role of new technologies in the curriculum, art educators are encouraged to introduce new curricula and pedagogy which creatively uses and integrates interactive computer hardware and software into the areas of making, creating and presenting, past and present contexts, aesthetics and criticism. The development of 'The Photography Experience' arises from one immediate question: “How can traditional art education practices, techniques and media integrate with the new technologies?"
The impact of technologies in the art classroom must assist teachers in the development of strategies and goals that establish an active learning environment and that address the needs of the students. The included student projects aim to meet the learning needs of students and art based curricular goals by:
