Background

The World Wide Web (WWW or web for short) is a section of the Internet that contains information stored as pages. These pages contain images, tables, sounds and many other types of multimedia. One of the most abundant pages are personal ‘Home’ pages containing information about the people who made them. They usually contain an image of the author, links to other sites and a short paragraph about the author.

Front Page

Front Page is a program that allows you to create web pages without needing to know how to program.

Front Page looks and operates similarly to Word. You can type text, insert images, insert tables etc. It also provides the ability to link to other web pages.

Your teacher will show you how to use Front Page to create your page.

A web page is saved as a special text file with the extension ".htm" or ".html".
