This section has written to help all K-12 teachers out there choose the right RCX kit for their classroom and ensure that their students gain the most out of the experience.

I have been told in the past that LEGO Mindstorms™ was designed only for home use and that Robolab™ is the choice for a classroom. As someone who has taught using both kits I have to say that this statement is unfounded. In my class we used a mixture of both kits and found that this provided the students with a greater experience than just using the one kit.

Before we get into the nitty gritty and discuss the differences between the two kits lets discuss the most important feature of them both.... The RCX brick.

The following information includes information on the differences between the two products, how to find out more about the kits, how to order the kits and how to use them effectively in the classroom. I have split the sections into three tables one each for the different kits and one for using the kits together. I hope it all makes sense.
