VirtualDub is an excellent free video capture program created by Avery Lee. It can be downloaded from his web site at: http://www.virtualdub.org. Some of the features of VideoDub are 2 video capture processes (one that can capture very high quality files), expandable for filters, mpeg to avi conversion and all the source code is provided if you wish to see how it was created or for the more adventurous create a new filter. The intention of this web page is to demonstrate VirtualDub's impressive video capture settings. "Many capture devices ship with the
sample vidcap32.exe program from Microsoft, which is often unable to use half the
bandwidth of your hard disks without dropping frames. VirtualDub contains built-in
capture support which can often use as much as 90% of your hard disk's maximum
sustained transfer rate -- as high as 10 megabytes per second -- without dropping a
frame. In addition, it has been well-tested at capturing over 70,000 frames
in a single pass. A video histogram helps you control brightness and contrast, and an
audio meter with volume, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer modes and a built-in Line-In
slider let you monitor audio input. " From the the experience that I have in video capturing, it is very hard to get a clean capture free of skipping. Using VirtualDub, though, I have found a reliable method. To see the tutorial click here. Created by D. Brown |
