My name is Denise O'Mara and I am a teacher at Mount Isa, North West Queensland, Australia. This year I am a full time Reading Recovery Teacher working between Mount Isa Central and Happy Valley State Schools. I've been a Primary School teacher for 24 years and have taught all grades from year 1 to 7. For a number of years I have muddled through introducing my classes to computers, but in the last few years I have started to develop my skills, and really looked at how ICT can be utilised by classroom teachers to develop the skills of students. In my classroom, I always incorporated computers into my planning as part of the theme I was teaching. I don't know if this is the best way, but it worked for me in the classroom, was easy to manage and also meant that technology wasn't taught in isolation. These pages contain the Internet Resources that I use in teaching, how I incorporate them into my planning and those I use for my own Professional Development. I hope that the resources and planning on these pages are of some assistance.
