These are just a small selection of resources available on the internet - Use the space below to add any more that you find that you may find useful.
Copyright
Everything on the Internet, just as with books, videos, movies, games etc, is owned by someone. You must have their permission before you use it. Most Internet sites will say who the material is owned by - some give permission for you to use their work on the site, but with others you must email them and ask permission before you use their work. (Get teacher or parent permission before you do this)
Safety
When making a webpage, never publish your full name, nor disclose where you live. If you wish people to contact you, only use your email address, and always obtain your parents permission before placing any work on the Internet. Remember, "Stranger Danger" rules apply to the Internet as well.
Other Information
* If you do not have MSFrontpage on your computer at home, you can compose web pages using Netscape Composer (Netscape Composer can be downloaded free from the Internet as part of Netscape Communicator, or obtained from cd’s accompanying computer magazines).
* You can also learn to compose pages using html, java, etc. The sites on webpage making can assist you in learning how to.
* Pages, once ready, are uploaded to your web host using an ftp (file transfer protocol) program. Good ones to use (shareware/freeware that can be downloaded from the internet) are Cute-ftp and WS-FTP LE. Obtain parent permission first.
* Most ISP’s offer free webspace to subscribers, and there are other places on the net that will give you free space too (but these usually put ads on your page). These are mentioned on the webpage making pages. Discuss this with your parents, and obtain their permission first.
