Making An Interactive Webpage

There are various ways of making web pages. They include using HyperText Markup Language (HTML), using a web site creation application such as Microsoft Frontpage or Netscape Composer, or even just turning your Word, Publisher or Powerpoint presentation into a web page.

Using HTML to create a web page

My advice is don't!

HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. It is the language that all web sites are written in. Whilst HTML can and is used, it is beyond the scope of this site and way beyond the scope of the average High School student.

Using an application such as Microsoft Frontpage or Netscape Composer to create a web page

There are programs which are readily available which do all the difficult HTML work for you. All you provide is the text and graphics. Two examples of these are Microsoft Frontpage and Netscape composer.
Both are reasonably easy to use, but detailed explanations are beyond the scope of this site. It is recommended that you visit the help pages of these two programs.

Turning a Word document, Publisher Document or Powerpoint presentation into a web page.

Almost all applications nowadays allow users to save their work as a web document. This is also called a HTML document. This means that almost any document can be turned into a web page.

In general terms, to do this look for the option to save as HTML or save as a web page. This will typically be in the file menu. Once this is done your document is now a web page and can be shown as such. For instance it could be uploaded to your school's intranet.
