come and try kayaking

Come and Try Kayaking is our program designed to introduce new-comers to the sport and is run by club volunteers. Minimum age for participants is about 8 years (depending on the child's size).

It is conducted on the second Saturday of each month from 8:00am meeting at the club house. See the calendar for this year's dates.

The session is usually over between 10:00 and 10:30am.

The cost is $10 to participate (most of which is Trial Canoeist Insurance).

Bookings are essential.

You would need to bring:

$10
hat and sunscreen
clothes you are willing to get wet in
a change of clothes and a towel (we have showers available)
water bottle
a large piece of enthusiasm

We supply boats, paddles, PFDs, supervision and advice. Find out here what type of boats we paddle.

Following your Come and Try session, you may wish to join the club, and participate in follow-up activities or junior program to further your paddling skills and fitness.
