Our membership is very active and we see most people regularly at our mid-week and weekend events. Interestingly, whilst we are a 'canoe' club, it is not very often you will see us in Canadian type canoes (though we do own one). We mostly paddle various types of kayak; singles, doubles, sea, touring and racing. We cater for ages 8 onwards in several disciplices of canoeing including; sprint, marathon, sea and recreational kayaking. Some members also have interest in slalom and canoe polo, though our club does not directly support these activities. Most of our members are social or recreational paddlers. We also have members who actively compete in local, state and national events. Some also volunteer as officials at various events. If you are interested in starting out in kayaking, we have a Come and Try program, and opportunities for you to build upon initial experiences. We also have junior paddler programs. Becoming a member is quite straight forward - canoeing is a relatively cheap sport in which to participate.
