Creating Field Totals (Average, Minimum, Maximum, Count, etc)
STEP 1 Create a Query containing a numerical data field. (Only one field is shown below for simplicity.)

STEP 2 Click on the Totals button.

The Totals row appears on your Query...

STEP 3 Drop down the Totals menu to select your function. In this example "Avg" was chosen to calculate the average age.

Run your Query to see the results. Since we only placed on field on the Query, only AvgOfAge appears. You would normally have all your other fields as well.
