Feral Pigeon
 (Columba livia)

Description
Feral pigeons are 33 to 34 cms tall and mainly blue - grey. They generally have two black bars on their wings with patches of white.

Voice
Their calls sound like cooing.

Flight
They usually fly in flocks or in pairs.

Food
Pigeons eat food left for domestic animals and food scraps they find around the place.

Nest
Pigeons' nests sometimes block people's gutters and down-pipes. 

Behaviour
Feral Pigeons are well known for making messes on public buildings and statues. 

Breeding 
Feral pigeons may interbreed with other wild birds.
