Australian Painted Lady - Vanessa kershawi

The  Australian Painted Lady has a wingspan of about 60mm. It can be found in areas with sub-tropical and temperate climates. It flies quickly, often landing on the ground or on flowers with outstretched wings, to feed. It can be seen throughout most of the year in parks and gardens or along roadsides and in weedy areas, where its hostplants grow. These include both native plants such as native everlasting daisies and non-native herbs and ornamental plants.
