Cabbage White - Pieris rapae

The Cabbage white butterfly has a wingspan of 45mm. It thrives in Adelaide gardens and in the southern part of South Australia.  It is considered by many people to be a pest because the larvae eat vegetable crops, such as cabbages, brussels sprouts and cauliflowers. These foodplants contain mustard oil. The larvae will also eat nasturtiums.
