Southern Grass-dart - Ocybadistes walkeri

The Southern Grass-dart is a small butterfly that has a wingspan of only about 22mm. It can be found in hot tropical climates as well as cooler temperate ones. It can fly very quickly. It likes feeding on the small flowers of herby plants. It can  be seen in Adelaide and surrounding areas where there is plenty of green grass that hasn't been mowed. Its foodplants are the leaves of grasses that stay moist and green during summer. They particularly like kikuyu and veldt grass.
