Cave Painting Activity

Most of us take reading and writing for granted, but how did people communicate their thoughts and ideas and record stories before writing as we know it today was invented?

In this learning activity you will explore how people in the Stone Age used art to tell stories and record their ideas. You will
  1. view some websites that show examples of cave art in Europe
  2. find out which animals were painted on cave walls and what they looked like
  3. draw your own cave paintings of animals on the wall of a virtual cave
View the animal cave paintings in the following sites.
