Korea

  by Jackie Miers

In 1945, after World War II, Korea was split into two countries - North Korea and South Korea. In 1950, when the people who ruled the two halves of Korea could not agree on the country's future, war broke out between north and south. Afterwards, North Korea became separated from South Korea. Many North Korean  families who have relatives in the South and South Korean families who have relatives in the North have not seen them since that time.                                  Most of the links on this page refer to South Korea.
