Students develop their understanding of the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and the relationship between them. They use mathematical terminology, symbols and conventions to communicate their understanding to others.

STUDENT TASKS
Open the Letters template.
Use the Moving tool and copy and paste the letters of your name in a row along the top. (You can use the Copy and Paste options in the Edit menu, or use the shortcuts: Apple C to copy and Apple V to paste).
Next to you name type an addition number sentence to show its value.
Do the same with two or three other names of students in the class.
Try to work out who has the highest value name in the class.
