University of Washington, Digital Collections

The Great Structures of the World
This web site provides information and images of 22 of the world's greatest structures. Select a country first and then a building.

Famous Structures
This site provides facts about structures from the ancient to the modern times. Although mostly European, scroll down the page for famous American structures. This site has some distracting advertising on its page.

Modern Wonders
This site provides images of significant structures that were built in the modern era. These include the Sydney Opera House, the Petronas Towers, the Aswan High Dam, The Golden Gate Bridge, the Empire State Building, the Channel Tunnel,Hoover Dam and more.
