The resources available in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) area of this unit are single stand alone computers in all classrooms and a network of 16 computers with Internet access. All students also have access to the Intranet which is currently under construction. This unit of work will form an integral part of the on-line experiences for the students in this school. Software used will include MS Paint, MSWord, MS PowerPoint. Although there are superior software packages for painting and drawing these are not part of our Microsoft Agreement and are not readily available to students in the school setting. Students have access to a scanner and a digital camera which will assist in the incorporation of digital images into their final presentations. These may include pictures of art works created without computers or photographs of students working together on the unit. Students have access to a black and white laser printer and to a colour printer. There are shared drives available for the large files which are likely to be created in this unit. These shared drives will also be used with the available data projector at the conclusion of the set tasks. Students will use the data projector to share the products of their work with their peers and to allow for peer evaluation of their work. Concrete materials and text resources will also be used in this unit. Tessellation blocks are available to the students as are a number of photocopied worksheets used in the unit.
