Saving Pages

Back Up Next

There a few steps to saving a page that are particularly important if you are going to use the 'create a web' utility and Page banners.
The title of the page that you can see on a web page on the internet can be created at the time of saving the page.
When you first save a page, click on the save icon.
You will see a heading Page Title and a Change Button.
Always give your pages short titles.  These titles display in the Page banner and in the navigation icons so if they are too long they won't display properly. One or two words is probably best.
You will see a file name.  Make sure your files names are short, in lower case, with no spaces.  You can use either .htm or .html as your file ending. Settle on one, and always use it.
You can tell whether a page is saved by looking in the list that shows when you click on the word Window in the menu bar.  Unsaved pages have an asterisk on them. FP will also give you a warning if you try to close a page without saving it.
If you are using 'a web' then always use File Close the Web to ensure that all files are saved. Similarly use File Open web to open a web you are working on. FP has a Recent Files and Recent webs list down at the bottom of the File menu to enable you to locate your most recent work quickly.
