Up Aloysius3

Wednesday May 21st 2003

Every Wednesday Paul, the Journalist, comes to Year 2 and Year 3 at SAC.
He takes a small group of students to the Central Market. Each week Paul and the students visit a different place in the market and they interview a worker. Then they come back to school and go into the Library to type up the interview.

Yesterday Paul took me to the Central Market with Tara, Haanah, Zahra, Shazleen and Sarah.
We went to Say Cheese and interviewed the Manager, Dave, about his shop. I found out that some cheeses come from different countries. Dave told us that some people think that mouldy cheese tastes delicious. I saw the hardest cheese of all – a Parmesan cheese called Reggiano. Dave said it comes from Italy. Haanah thought that Dave said ‘red parmesan from Germany’. She was embarrassed when she realised her mistake. Her face went red! Paul took a photo of all of us at Say Cheese. Then Tara and I had a taste of some of the cheese – Tara liked the Cheddar best and so did I. Dave was very kind to us – you can see him smiling in our photo.

Then we went back to the Library and wrote about our visit on the computer. You can read about our visit on Write Online. The web address is http://writeonline.sac.sa.edu.au.
