Conic sections - general quadratic equation

A general quadratic equation can be put into the following forms:

Ax² + Bxy + Cy² + Dx + Ey + F = 0   or ax² + 2bxy + cy² + 2dx + 2ey + f = 0

Investigate how the values of the coefficients affect the curve.
