1.     Remember the security risk.  Do not send any information via the Internet that may be of a sensitive nature eg someone else’s salary, or address etc.

2.     Don’t shout!  If you use all capital letters eg ‘WHAT WOULD HAPPEN …’, you give the impression to others that you are shouting at them.

3.     Be courteous.  Always remember that manners cost nothing.

4.     Think before you send a message.  Do not say anything that you may regret later.

5.     Sign your messages. 

6.     Check your message before you send it.

7.     Do not send large files.

8.  Be careful of your humour.  Because others can not see you or know you, they might not understand your sense of humour. 

9.     Respond to messages that you receive.
