Angel

Background to "Angel"

"Angel" was originally a country song called "Angel of the Morning", which was performed by female singer Juice Newton in 1981. In 2001, the chorus was used by Shaggy, who added rapped verses to create the song "Angel".

Create your own version of this song by entering the notes from the score into a sequencer. Once you have entered the notes an adit the arrangement and create your own extended song with rap or instrumental sections.

What to do:-

  1. Click to see Page 1 or Page 2 of the score (music) for "Angel"
  2. Connect a MIDI keyboard to your computer (optional)
  3. Set the left locator to 1 and the right to bar 17 (16 bars total)
  4. You will need 4 tracks:- (Make sure you give each track an appropriate name)
    1. Track 1, Melody
    2. Keyboard, synth or guitar sound
    3. Bass instrument
    4. Track 10, Drums (channel 10)
  5. You need to choose the most appropriate Patchname for each track.
  6. Try and learn each part of the song on keyboard and record it into the sequencer in real time. If this is too hard, enter the music using the Score Editor Window
  7. In the Arrange Window (the main Cubasis screen), copy and paste the parts, rearranging them to create your own version of this song
  8. Adjust the volumes, panning and effects of each part using the MIDI Mixer window
