Course Information
The Music
Technology Course (at Ashfield Boys' High School) is a school developed
course which has been endorsed and certified by the NSW Board of Studies.
The course is highly significant as it was written especially for Stage
5 students at Ashfield Boys High School to commence in 2002. It is a 2
year course offered in Years 9 and 10, and is unique to Ashfield Boys
High School.

Outline
In
Year 9 students will:
- Develop
a knowledge and understanding of ways technology is used to create
music
- Use
a range of software packages to create original music
- Learn
to use the internet as an effective music tool and resource, and
create basic websites

Compose, record and mix songs using a computer

Produce a CD of original songs

In
Year 10 Students will:
- Continue
to create music using a range of software packages
- Continue
to use the internet as an effective music tool and resource, and
create basic websites
- Create
basic websites, libraries and digital portfolios
- Explore
possibilities in digital audio manipulation. Eg. sampling, sound
design, hard disk recording
- Explore
the multimedia applications of technology and create multimedia
works
- Produce
a CD of original songs and multimedia works
