Communicate in the Workplace

Your task is to present a set of oral instructions to your class on how to complete ONE of the allocated tasks listed below.

You will be given 10 minutes before hand to work out how to do it and what you are going to say. You may use a small set of flash cards if you so wish.

  1. Creating a new folder called “Information Technology” with topic folders inside for each of the units of work in this course. Topic folders hold all documents for the given topic.
  2. Formatting a floppy disk and making it a system disk.
  3. Placing a footer in a word document that shows file name and location
  4. Inserting a date and time into a word document
  5. Creating a table that has 5 rows and 4 columns in a word document
  6. Saving a word document as a template, then reopening it to use as a template
  7. Changing the printer to which you will print to output your documents
  8. Scanning an image from a book and placing it into a word document
  9. Using the style menu in the IT Document template
  10. Perform a Mail Merge to send the same business letter to a number of clients
  11. Use a range of different TABS to format the layout of a word document
  12. Send an email to your whole class using the school’s internal email system
  13. Use the Print Screen functions to include both a picture of your computer screen in a word document, and a picture of just the active window in a word document
  14. Use Bullets and numbering to help organise your word documents
