Junior Activity

Aussie Bites are written and illustrated by Australia's favourite authors and illustrators and are published by Puffin Books.  We have selected 14 of these for our Book Rap.

A Book Rap is a just a discussion about books among kids who like the books which uses email to share our thoughts.  Teachers can find out more about them by clicking here and choosing Book Raps.

To write this Rap each of us read at least four different Aussie Bites and then we chose our favourite.  Then those of us who had chosen the same book formed a group and read the book again, this time looking for four questions that would help us read on the lines, between the lines and beyond the lines. It was hard to do that because we are used to answering questions, not asking them!

When we had each written our questions, we had to choose the best four for each story. We also had to write a blurb about the story and a little bit about ourselves.

We have worked very hard on this but we have really enjoyed it.  We hope you do too..

You are invited to join in our Book Rap.

We are Year 4 students so we think it will suit students who are in Years 3, 4, and 5.

To join us, all you have to do is send us an email that tells us about your class, your school, where you live and your favourite Aussie Bites book, and why you like it

Just click on this picture to contact us!

Please send us your introduction by Friday August 3, 2001 so we can share these with everyone.  We are going to make a map that shows where each school is. You can too - it is a really good way to learn about the geography of this country.
