Tashi rescues Princess Sarashina from the demons, but then he is caught by them. Can he escape?
1. How did Princess Sarashina describe the demons?
| She said that their eyes are as red as blood like
two whirlpools trying to suck you in and that they have fleshy

| Princess Sarashina said they were like pools of

| Princess Sarashina said that their
eyes are as red as blood, like two whirlpools trying to suck you
in. Our class thought that the demons looked cute, and

| We are really enjoying the Tashi and the Demons Rap.
Princess Sarashina said that the demons had red eyes like pools of
swirling mud. These eyes tried to suck you in. They also had teeth

2. How did Tashi escape from the demons?
| Tashi was in the dragon blood tree, which
no-one can escape from, but Tashi found a way out. He went to the
middle of the tree and went down the trunk to the bottom of the tree

| He tricked the demons into throwing them up in the tree Corey, James, Kade, Riley, St Lukes Rappers |
| Tashi tricked the demons by saying he was scared of dragon trees
and they threw him in the tree. He wriggled down to the bottom of
the tree trunk where he could see light. He squeezed out the hole.

| The demons threw Tashi into the Dragon Blood Tree, but Tashi
remembered that the wise old owl had told him to go to the centre of
the tree and climb down the trunk until he could see a light. This

3. Why did the demons take Princess Sarashina?
| I think the answer is so that Tashi would go after her. Dani and Ashleigh, Stradbroke Rappers |
| The demons wanted to hurt her so the emperor, her father, would
come and rescue her. The demons would then get rid of her father so

| We think the demons took Princess Sarashina because
they thought that the king might come to save
his daughter. That would be their chance to capturethe king and take

| If we had hidden Princess Sarashina the demons
would threaten us with large animals like
lions and cheetahs. So that we wouldn't talk we would
think of playing our favourite sport, soccer, and we are scoring a

| To make us talk they could use a snake or two and
we would say that it was one of our favourite

| If I had hidden Princess Sarashina, I think I would talk if they
forced me to go on the television show, "Down Load". This
is because I am very shy. The mind game I would play would be to
tell them that I have always wanted to go on the show "Down

The magic bell rings whenever dangers threatens Tashi's village. It starts ringing as the River Pirate arrives looking for Tashi.

Pirate looking for Tashi?

| The River Pirate is looking for Tashi because he wanted revenge
because last time they met Tashi had tricked him with a bag of fake

2. Why did the River Pirate steal the magic bell?
| Because Tashi tricked him with the fake bag of gold. He wanted to

| The pirate stole the magic bell because he thought that the magic

himself to protect himself and his crew. He also knew that the bell
was precious to the towns people He thought he might be able to

because he thought that the River Pirate was going to hurt him

been busy writing our own Tashi chapter books. We are addicted to
