Kel, an ordinary boy, does not intend to steal Caspian’s bull terrier, Brut.  He only meant to play with him for the weekend.  But a disastrous incident occurs.  Kel’s father who needs money decides to sell the dog because Kel said he found the dog.  Caspian then has to try and retrieve his dog.  Caspian’s vain attempts lead him into an unknown and dangerous world, which even his parents can’t face.

Answers to Brut is a Puffin novel with a splendid plot.  Gillian Rubenstein is a well-known and famous novelist.  She has made a little situation into an unimaginable nightmare for a young boy named Caspian.  This is a good novel, though Gillian Rubenstein could have done better.  I felt that this novel had an abrupt ending but it did emphasise courage.  Life shrinks and expands in proportion to one’s courage and Caspian certainly was brave to rescue his dog.

I would rate this book seven out of ten

This story Answers to Brut is a about a boy named Caspian and his dog named Brut, which he really adores. His friend Kel kind of borrowed Brut, which Caspian didn’t know about at all. The adventure began when Caspian had found out what had happened to Brut.

This story is a wonderful story to read if you’re like adventure. It is really fun reading how Caspian chases after Brut and also how his family supports him in whatever he does. The language is very simple to understand. As I said before the story is an adventure so I guess it wouldn’t really matter the way you read it, but personally I would recommend it as a read along book. I think this story would be suitable for young people between the ages of 11 to 14 years.

At the end I guess I did enjoy reading this book. So I would recommend to others.
