A young boy imagines that he's a cowboy pirate out on the open sea. He lassoes up stray whales, watches eagles swooping overhead and hunts for hidden treasure. This cowboy pirate also has a pirate bear who accompanies him everywhere - they catch rainbows and paint pictures of their adventures together. It's a fine life being a cowboy pirate.

I read the book the Cowboy Pirate. The story is about a boy who went to sea on his horse on a boat. He was a cowboy pirate. But he also had his teddy.

I did not really like this story because the words didn’t rhyme and you can’t be a cowboy and a pirate. It didn’t seem to make sense. I think the story was his imagination because on the last page all his toys were the things in the story.

I was shocked to see the author of this book wrote a very good book called  Little White Dogs Can’t Jump. It was much better.

This story is about a boy who had his imagination and dreamed about being a pirate and a cowboy together

We liked how it was two characters. A cowboy and a Pirate.

A couple of children didn't like it because they don't like Pirates!!

It was quite good because the boy had a pony and a boat and a parrot.

We thought the book had beautiful pictures with lots of colour.

The pictures were bright.

It has really good rhyming words which made the story fun and interesting.

We liked the rainbow in his pocket and how the whale jumped out of the water.

The pirate bear is really cute.

The story is funny because a horse can't go in a boat and stand up.

We liked all of his toys and things in his bedroom at the end of the story.

We think everyone would like this book.  It is not just for little kids.
