This book would be suitable for year 5 or 6 students, particularly boys. It is about soccer which is a game that lots of boys like. We play it at school in summer and winter.

Its a great story. It is about Splinter who wants to become the next David Beckham (English soccer captain). He really wants to be in the team to play the opening match at Wembley Stadium - but his team is the worst team ever.

It's really funny, hilarious actually and I would recommend it.

This book was easy to read. The chapters are not too long and the writing is nice and big so it is easy to see. There are player profiles at the back so you can find out something about the characters and have another laugh.

Splinters and Tangles play on the same soccer team, but Tangles has not turned up for training and has missed the last 2 games. Splinters sees Tangles wearing a Camp Quality T-shirt and bandanna. Tangles must have cancer!

Splinters wants the Western Wildcats to get into the Guinness Book of Records to raise money for a machine to save Tangles, but then his team has a chance to play a big match at Wembley.

I thought this was a very good book and recommend it! It was pretty funny, and kept me interested. I was surprised when Splinters abandoned his friend Tangles to play in the soccer team.
