The Deltora Book of Monsters
is a great book. It tells us about all the monsters in Deltora and follows
a person whose life was turned around by the Shadow Lord. I read this book
after I'd finished the Deltora series, but I think this book can be read
before reading the series, in between or after. The
words describe the monsters well. The person also tells us how he feels
towards the monsters, which gives us a good idea of what we would think of
the monsters. The pictures are amazing and can be enjoyed by anyone. They
are very detailed and colourful. The pictures help us with the imagination
for the story. This book can be read over and over again. I
thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and I am sure any other person who
reads it will enjoy it. Tharsiga, aged 11, Canberra, ACT |

The Deltora Book of Monsters,
by Emily Rodda is the illustrated book of the characters from the book
series The Deltora Quest.
Ranging from the nine mysterious Ra-Kacharz, the strange dictators of
Noradz, to Muddlets, the demented, strange looking three legged horses,
this is one of those picture books you just look at, and look at, because
you just can't get enough of it. What
a great fantasy reference. Emily Rodda and Marc McBride make for a great
team with McBride on the illustrative side of things, wielding a pencil
and paintbrush, while Rodda uses the power of the pen to portray amazing
images for the fantasy- land of Deltora. I
give this book 9 out of 10, because, even if the drawings are good some
seem a little inaccurate to me such as Gellick, the giant poisonous toad
who guards the Emerald atop Dread Mountain. He seriously
resembles Jabba the Hut from Star Wars. If
you don’t buy this book for yourself, you should at the very least have
a flip through and have a look. It really is a credit to Rodda`s and
McBride`s name. This book is recommended for all fans of the Deltora
Quest series. Connor,
