This is a collection of tall tales, which are all very funny. I enjoyed Craig Smith's illustrations, which are excellent. The stories aren't exactly true, but they are all funny.

Jones' Selection is a poem about a guy called Jones and he lives on a mountain. He has cows and sheep on his farm. Jones changes the land with all the pipes and chemicals which he uses on it. One day the mountain shook, which created a landslide which covers Jones up.

"They never dug up no remains

Nor scraps of William Jones -

The superphosphates ate the lot

Hide, buttons, boots and bones."

I would recommend this book for grades 3-6. It is a great book.
