Killer McKenzie is a novel, which should be read alone, and the print is big and easy read. The storyline is not caught straight away, although it’s not faint throughout the book. Killer McKenzie is a realistic book, and slightly an adventure, with all its ordeals.

The main character, Alexandra, comes from her home in England to spend Christmas with her father, Cameron, who lives on a farm in Glenlea, Sturts Creek, Australia. At first Alex can’t fit in to the farm lifestyle, although as her holiday in Glenlea progresses, she adapts to it, as her father reminds her of her life on the farm when she was younger.

After many ordeals with her stepmother who happens to be pregnant, all the chores she never used to have, and other tribulations with locals, and her Mother ‘Viv’, who happens to be on her second honeymoon with Alex’s stepfather, she finally found where she fits in. Soon after Alex ends up rejecting an invitation for early departure to go back to England, which she formerly dreamed of, as soon as she set foot at the farm.

This book shows that it doesn’t matter what you have done in the past or how your life has been perceived, the people who love you the most will stay with you and make you belong.
