Online Databases

Many databases contain articles from popular magazines, newspapers, reference books, and scholarly journals, where the information is subjected to a process of editing and review. This means the information is more reliable and although many online databases are accessible via the Internet, they have their own  search mechanisms so they are not searchable using standard search engines.
Most of these databases operate on a 'user pays' subscription basis so different educational institutions will provide users with access to different databases.
Some are more user friendly than others and each one has specific search features which are usually described in  a feature called 'search help' or 'search tips'.
All Queensland Schools have access to  Macquarie Net  - an excellent Australian Reference database with a simple search process.
