Conclusion

This Web Quest challenged you to think deeply about issues that will not only affect our athletes
but also the future of the Olympics. It is a problem that is taxing our world leaders to this day.
You were probably asked to defend issues that you don't support.

Now it is time to have your say.

Write a report on your beliefs - no more than 200 words.
Your report will answer the questions:
What if performance enhancing drugs were used at the Olympics?

How does drug use affect competition and the notion of fairness?

First - Complete the Structural Plan for your report and show your teacher.

1. Begin your report with a statement of who you are and how you propose to answer the main questions of this WebQuest.

2. Give background information that shows you understand the topic.
Use information, pictures, movies, facts, opinions, etc. from the Web pages and resources you explored to convince your class that your viewpoint is important.

3. Write paragraphs that give good reasons to support your opinion.
Make sure to be specific in both the information (like where you got it from on the Web) and the reasoning (why the information proves your point).

4. To achieve the goals set out in your report, include any changes that should be made to current IOC drug rules.

5. Have another person proof read your report. Use correct report format.

6. Email your report to either the IOC or Australian Institute of Sport and/or the Hon Jackie Kelly Minister for Sport and Tourism. If you live outside of Australia, send it to your Government's Sports or Olympic Committee.

Final Reports could be discussed by the class and an agreement
made as to the final report sent.

Congratulations.
You gained background information, developed expertise in one particular area
and got into some pretty expert analysis. At times, you must have felt confused with ideas spinning every which way.
That's normal when you're building new mental connections.

The future of the Olympics is up to us - and we do have a say!
