Read Only Files

Use them when you want to use the same document again and again e.g. with class activities.

  1. Make document with instructions using your word processor or HTMLAsst
  2. File - save (your document)
  3. Name it e.g. aaaaclass.htm
  4. Save the file where your internet files are located e.g. c:\upload (Double click c:\, Double click e.g. c:\upload
  5. Click OK
  6. File - exit
  7. Start File Manager (in windows 3.x) or Explorer (in windows 95)
  8. Double click e.g. c:\upload
  9. Click ONCE on the file you want e.g. aaaaclass.htm
  10. File - properties
  11. Click in the box to the left of Read Only. An X appears in this box.
  12. Click OK
  13. You may want to copy this file to a floppy disc by dragging the file to the e.g. A drive icon. Then you can use more than than one computer if available.
  14. Exit File Manager or Explorer
