What to do for each class
What to do for each class
- Show the children how to work out their file name. (Maximum 8 characters,
lower case and must have the two letter class code at the end.) Ask the children to
write down his / her file name. Don't forget .htm or .html at the end.
- I suggest that you start with the file aaaclass.htm.Click
here to see it. Just change the title and heading to the appropriate class name
and make sure that it points back to the classes page. Save it with the correct class
filename.
- Show the children how to change yournamey1 to their file name and Your Name to
their real name.
- When finished delete any unused names (there are about 30) and save the file (as
text if using a word processor).
- Check your file with Netscape and correct any mistakes.
What to do for each student
- I suggest that you start with a file aaay2.html.Click here to
see it Just change the title and make sure it points back to the class page (at
the bottom). Save it as a
read only file (PC)
or stationary file (mac).
- Show the children how to open this "template file".
- Show the children how to type in their real name where it says Your Name's Page
and also how to type in e.g. favourite food etc.
- When finished show the children how to save the file with the file name they wrote
down in the previous section. Don't forget .htm or .html at the end of the filename.
- Check your file with Netscape and correct any mistakes.
- If you want to include pictures of the children, get the pictures by scanning,
frame capture from a video camera, using a digital camera e.g. apple quicktake (around
$700 ex tax), Connetrix video camera (around $250 black and white $480 colour ex tax).
For best results save your your images in jpeg format. For filenames use e.g.
myfotoy1.jpg. The last two digits (y1) stand for the class.
