Monitoring progress

These Kidpix slides show work in progress before students put their slides into Kidpix Slideshow to share with the class.

Students were requested to use freehand drawing tools to create most of their pictures.

Students were encouraged to edit their text.

The students enjoyed sharing slides as they progressed. This sharing supported thinking and planning for others and helped me monitor progress. Students were informally assessing their own and others progress at this time.

Assessment

We used the Assessment Rubric included in the unit. Immersion in the Whale Quest, observation of student work skills and behaviours and finished slideshows provided ample information for assessing learning outcomes as specified in the overview.

Reflection

All students will not work their way through to Task 6, Evaluation.
All students comfortably finished up to Task4, most attempted and finished Task 5. Two partnerships attemtped Task 6.
