Poetry Forms Quiz

Home | Up | Answers

Teacher's Notes: This quiz is about getting kids interested in forms of poetry and learning some useful 'poetry trivia'. It works well if kids have the questions on a sheet and can pair up with other students, or form a team. The team that gets the most answers in a set amount of time, wins. I've also given the class a set amount of time to look at the sites and then given the quiz to teams who have 5 minutes to answer as many questions as they can. At all costs avoid the 'worksheet' mentality - kids like to be engaged in learning new things. You also have to put them on trust not to look up the answers until they are finished.
