Radio Talk Back Guide

Home ]

Teacher's Notes: Radio Talk Back is still a very vibrant media construct. This is a scaffold that students can work through to create a very simple radio talk back program on an issue of their choice or set by the teacher. Try it out using a text students are working on in class such as a novel, poem, play or film. Print this page so that students have a hard copy to work on or get them to copy and paste the right hand column into a word document. All they have to do is delete the labels in brackets and add their own content.

This could be followed up with creating a web forum using a similar format adapted to the features of a web forum or chat.

PS: If anyone is good at using Flash or other interactive software and wants to have a go at creating an interactive model of this scaffold I would be very grateful. Please email me if you do and allow me to link to it on this page.
