[By Josh, Yr 3B, Katherine South PS,
NT] Once upon a time there was a group of boys and their names
were Josh, Anthony, Michael and Mason. They played together all the time.
But one day, they got into trouble and they blamed each other and they
were not friends.
[By Mason & Beki, 234 Heysen, Humpty
Doo PS, NT] Mason went and told the teacher his side of the story,
then the teacher asked for Josh, Anthony and Michael for their sides of
the story. Then they had a big argument over whose fault it was. The
teacher said, "Stop!" for she knew how to work it out. She asked each one
of them a different question. She started with Josh. It went like
this.
[By Josh, Yr 3B, Katherine South PS,
NT] The teacher asked Josh "Where were you when the ball smashed
the window?" "On the oval"' said Josh. Then the teacher asked Mason
"Who kicked the ball at the window?" "Anthony"' said Mason. Then the
teacher asked Anthony "Did you mean to hit the window?"
[By Mason & Beki, 234 Heysen, Humpty Doo PS,
NT] "No, I was going to kick it to Michael. But Michael missed it
and it smashed the window!" "OK" said the teacher and wrote a note for
each of them to help pay for the window. Then they became friends
again. Next time they played with a ball, they stayed away from the
windows.
